Venus is the second planet from the sun and is named after the Roman God of Love. The second brightest object after the moon in our night sky. Venus is hotter than Mercury despite being further away from the sun. Venus has no moons.

History

First discovered in 17th Century BC by Babylonian astronomers and named after the Roman God of Love and Beauty, it is the only planet in our solar system to be named after a female. Venus is extremely hot and covered with 1000's of volcanoes with a Toxic Atmosphere.
